Many thousands of female and male survivors of rape or sexual abuse have joined Points With Purpose, each getting a dot in the portrait of the survivor. Supporters get a dot in the sheet that covers her.

David is a Los Angeles based celebrity artist. Some of the biggest names in entertainment have posed for him or received a dot in his one dot = one person charitable drawings. He has been drawing using only dots, called pointillism, since he was 16 years old.

Thanks so much for the Points with Purpose project. It gives the ones of us who have been assaulted a face.

I have today, for the first time since being a member for over a year, shared my story on this site... Thank you for letting my voice be heard.

Knowing that one of those dots represents me, makes me feel a little less invisible, and a little less alone.

My dot in the Points With Purpose portrait did more than prove that I exist. After years of having my truth denied, and even denying the truth myself, I feel my dot proves that my story is true.

Although I have told a couple close friends the basics of what happened to me, this is the first time that I have really felt able to tell my whole story. Points With Purpose continues to be a place where I am experiencing freedom.

For the first time in forever, I feel truly understood and valued for who I am and not for what happened to me. Without this support I doubt I’d be alive right now.
